The LTGF series are filter-separators, also known as oil-water filter separators or jet-fuel filter separators. A metal housing holds two sets of elements, coalescer elements and separator elements, together with a drain valve, water-release valve, differential-pressure gauge, safety valve and trace heating. Fluid passes through the coalescer elements from the inside out. Composite fibre in a deep layer holds back particles, and a coalescing layer merges tiny free water droplets so that they settle into the sump. Smaller droplets continue to the separator elements, which stop the remaining water.
The published application list includes aviation fuel, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, turbine oil and other low-viscosity hydraulic and lubricating oils, as well as liquefied petroleum gas and aromatic chemical feedstocks. Typical sites named are fuel depots, airport fuel areas, refineries, terminals and pipelines.
Housings are offered for flows from 30 to 500 m³/h, with design pressures of 1.0, 1.6, 2.5, 4.0 and 6.4 MPa, vertical or horizontal installation, and filtration precision of 3–5 μm or 1 μm for suspended solids. Three performance grades, A, B and C, are listed. The table below shows 16 housing models with the size and number of coalescer and separator elements. Frequently asked questions
How does a filter-separator remove water from fuel?
Fluid first flows through coalescer elements that capture particles and merge fine water droplets into larger ones, which settle by gravity. Separator elements then stop the remaining smaller droplets. Collected water is released through the drain or water-release valve.
Which design pressures and orientations are available?
Design pressures of 1.0, 1.6, 2.5, 4.0 and 6.4 MPa are listed, in vertical or horizontal installation. Please contact us to confirm which pressure rating applies to the model you need.
What information do you need to recommend a model?
